Gaffney, Alice E. (27 November 1914 - 13 September 1981)

NEILLSVILLE -- Mrs. Alice E Gaffney, 66, of Neillsville died Saturday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen with the Rev. Richard Fliss officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Friends may call at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen.

The former Alice McKee was born November 27, 1914 in Pittsville and married Richard F. Gaffney there August 17, 1936. He died April 15, 1971.

She was a graduate of Pittsville High School.

The couple moved to Owen in 1936 where Mr. Gaffney served as an attorney and Mrs. Gaffney was secretary in his law office.

In 1964, they moved to Neillsville when Mr. Gaffney became Clark County Judge.

Survivors include 4 daughters, Mrs. David (Janet) Thomas of Stoughton, Jane "Tony" Gaffney and Mrs. Colleen Johnson, both of Neillsville, and Kathleen Gaffney of Minneapolis; three sons, Richard Jr. of Wisconsin Rapids, Patrick of Willard and Timothy of Withee; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Spleis of Watertown and Mrs. Norma Weaver of Biron; and 16 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan, in November 1980; two brothers and one granddaughter.
