Statistics just compiled show that in the past three years the value of dairy
products in Clark County has more than doubled. In 1917 there were 110 cheese
factories, 10 creameries and one condensary. The chees factories handled 13,006,
294 pounds of milk, and the creameries 626,531. The value of the products from
these two sources was $3,304,735.56. The Oatman Condensary in this city
(Neillsville) has paid out to the farmers in 1917 over $700,000, so that the
total value of dairy products for the county is well over the four million mark,
and still going up.
