Lehmann, William A. (27 December 1899 - 17 September 1981)
GRANTON -- William A. Lehmann, 81, of Granton, died today at Neillsville
Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, with the Rev. Horst
W. Augustin officiating. Burial will be in Windfall Cemetery, Granton. Friends
may call at Gilbertson Funeral Home.
Mr. Lehmann was born December 27, 1899 in Tigerton to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob
Lehmann. He attended school there and married Edna Brumm May 3, 1924 in Kenosha.
Following their marriage they lived four years in Kenosha, where Mr. Lehmann
worked with his father and a brother in construction.
In 1928 they moved to Shawano County and in 1932 to a farm in the town of Eaton
near Greenwood in Clark County. Later they operated a dairy farm in the town of
York and in 1947 moved to the village of Granton. Mr. Lehmann did custodial work
in the Granton Public School System until his retirement in 1969.
Mr. and Mrs. Lehmann celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1974.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Raimon of Fairfax, Virginia, James of
Louisville, Kentucky and Elroy of Cairo, Egypt; four daughters, Mrs. Rudolph
(Dolores) Dageford of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mrs. Gene (June) Miller of Grand
Island, Nebraska, Mrs. Melvin (Gladys) Smith of Appleton and Mrs. Carole Fox of
Minneapolis; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul of
Tigerton and one sister, Mrs. Anna Triegloff of Tigerton.
He was predeceased by one sister and three brothers.
