Buchholz, Charles (9 February 1894 - 16 October 1981)

OWEN -- Funeral services will be Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, town of Holway, for Charles Buchholz, 87, of Route 2, Owen, who died Friday at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley. The Rev. Alan Minshall will officiate and interment will be at Hillside Cemetery (Pine Hill), Curtiss. Friends may call at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen.

Mr. Buchholz was born February 9, 1894, at Colby. He attended Colby High School and on June 2, 1916, married Leona Nichols in Dorchester.

They lived in the Curtiss and Unity areas, and later farmed in the town of Hixon. In 1926 he moved to the town of Holway, where he farmed until 1978. Since 1978 he has lived at the Thorp Care Center and Clark County Health Care Center.

Mr. and Mrs. Buchholz celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1976. She died November 27, 1980.

Survivors include two sons, Karl of Curtiss and Robert of Abbotsford; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Evelyn) Daniels of Rib Lake, Mrs. John (Alvina) Maldonis of Dorchester and Mrs. Donald (Fern) Madden of Cedarburg; one brother, Arthur of Owen; 17 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, who died November 27, 1980, one son, Warren, two brothers, two sisters and a great-grandson.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
