Bender, Walter (14 April 1911 - 16 October 1981)

CURTISS -- Walter Bender, 70, of Route 1, Curtiss, died Friday afternoon at his home.

Funeral services will be Monday at Rux-Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby. Burial will be in the Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Alan Minshall will officiate.

He was born April 14, 1911, at Lumberton, Mississippi, and married Hester Kiblinger May 16, 1941, at Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They lived in the Curtiss area for the past three years.

He was a salesman for Paterson Redman International Harvestore Sales. He was in the Air Force during World War II, and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. David (Sharon) Koch of Route 1, Curtiss; three grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Bender of New Orleans; and one sister, Lucille Hargrove of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bender, two brothers and one sister.
