DeSota, Emma J. (1916 - 24 October 1981)

UNITY -- Services were conducted today at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Stanley, for a former Unity and Thorp resident, Mrs. Ivan (Emma J.) DeSota, 65, who died Saturday at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, Burial was in Eastside Cemetery, Stanley.

The former Emma Evenson was born in Eidsvold, Clark County, and on June 19, 1937, she and Ivan DeSota were married in Stanley.

They farmed near Unity for several years, moving to Thorp in 1943 and to Stanley in 1945.

Surviving are seven sons, Duane and Melvin, both of Milwaukee, Dennis, Gary and Ronald, all of St. Paul, Minnesota, Dale of Chicago and Ray of Phillips; two daughters. Mrs. Betty Alger of Thorp and Mrs. Irene Anderson, Wheeling, Illinois; five brothers, Edwin in California, George in Wenatchee, Washington, Russell of Chippewa Falls, Arthur of Colfax and Bernard, Kenosha; and 20 grandchildren.
