Thorp Historical Society Tour (2015)
With the doors to the Thorp Historical Society and Telephone Museum open on a
regular basis during the summer months, it’s no wonder that the local attraction
is drawing in so many patrons!
While many visitors who come through are locals or visitors who once lived in or
around the Thorp area, the treasures found in the local museum are drawing in
groups from all around the state! One of the most recent groups-a book and yoga
club from Phillips, Wisconsin-made a special 75-mile trek just to take a walking
tour through Thorp’s Historical Museum.
While taking in all of the special collections and displays, many group members
commented on the uniqueness of Thorp’s Museum.
“This museum is very user-friendly,” one member said. “It’s so easy to see all
of the things. It’s like actually being there since not everything is behind
glass.”
“Your town is so lucky to have something like this,” another commented.
The Thorp Historical Society and Telephone Museum is open every Saturday and
Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. through Labor Day, September 7, or by
appointment.
