Arneson, Viola (15 February 1932 - 15 November 1981)

DORCHESTER -- Mrs. James (Viola) Arneson, 49, Route 1, Dorchester, was found dead at her home by a daughter Sunday. An autopsy has been ordered, but no foul play is suspected, according to Robert Lulloff, Clark County Coroner.

Services will be Wednesday at the Maurina Funeral Home in Dorchester. Officiating will be the Rev.. Alan C. Minshall, pastor of St. Paul's American Lutheran Church in Curtiss.

The former Viola Adele Johnson was born February 15, 1932 at Stanley to Mr. and Mrs. Jens Peter Johnson. She received her education in Stanley and was married there July 12, 1952 to James Arneson, who survives.

The couple lived in Stanley until 1959, when they came to rural Dorchester. She was employed by Teledyne Post Co. in Owen from 1965 to 1978, Since March 1878 she and her husband had operated the Mayville Inn Tavern, town of Mayville.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Mark Arneson, Dodgeville; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Smazel, Dorchester; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Baumgartner, Stanley, and Mrs. Roland (Marie) Truchinski, Loyal; five brothers, Everett Johnson, Thorp. Elmer Johnson, Wheeling, Illinois, Donald Johnson, Fontana, Robert Johnson, Salem, Missouri and Arnold Johnson, Greenwood, and two grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, a sister and a grandson.
