Leach, Jerry Lee (17 July 1956 - 13 November 1981)

WITHEE -- Services were today at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford for Jerry Lee Leach, 25, Route 2. Withee, who died Friday. He was dead on arrival at Stanley Memorial Hospital, where he was taken after becoming ill at home.

Following services in Medford he was taken to Friendship for services at Big Flats Lutheran Church. The Rev. Douglas R. Groenwold of St. John's Lutheran Church, Withee, officiated and burial was in Friendship Public Cemetery.

Mr. Leach was born July 17, 1956 in Wisconsin Rapids. In 1976 he graduated from Medford Senior High School and in 1979 received an associate degree in accounting from District I Technical Institute-Eau Claire.

Mr. Leach, who never married, was a victim of muscular dystrophy. Besides completing his studies, he operated his own game farm in the town of Maplehurst, where he bred and raised pedigree dogs and rabbits, along with various birds species.

Surviving are his stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cardinal, Withee; step-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Cardinal, Dorchester; two brothers, Arleigh Leach. Platteville, and LeRoy Leach, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; a sister, Mrs. Bruce (Bonnie) Brunner, Medford; three stepbrothers, Clifford and Marvin Cardinal, both of Withee, and Roger Cardinal, Woodruff; four stepsisters, Miss Debbie Cardinal, Mrs. Ray (Sharon) Strobach and Julia Kramer, all of Withee, and Mrs. Arleigh (Beverly) Leach, Platteville. A brother, Earl, died in 1976 and his father, Lester, died in 1975.
