Leonhard. Fred W. (23 October 1894 - 13 November 1981)

A concelebrated Mass of the Resurrection will be offered Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Fred Leonhard, 87, 509 S. Vine Anne. He died Friday at the Marshfield Convalescent Center, where he had been residing since October 7, 1977.

Celebrants will be the Rev. Peter J. Leketas, pastor and two nephews of Mr. Leonhard, the Rev. Francis A. Heindl, La Crosse, and the Rev. Arthur W. Heindl, Lime Ridge. The Sacred Heart adult choir will sing the Mass of the Resurrection, with Mrs. Helen Brinkmann as organist. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Mr. Leonhard was born October 23, 1894 in Marshfield and at the age of 6 moved with his parents to Dorchester. He received his education in the Clark County schools.

He married the former Augusta Krainak October 5, 1927 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. She preceded him in death February 6, 1949.

After their marriage they farmed in Dorchester until July 1947, when they came to Marshfield. He was employed by Boson Co., Inc., and later for Roddis Plywood, now Weyerhauser Co. for 12 years before retiring in 1966.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.

Survivors include a son, Paul L. Leonhard, Marshfield, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter Marcella Marie Leonhard on December 3, 1951 and by two brothers and five sisters.

Pallbearers will be Frank Heinzen, Gerald Herman, Kenneth Fahey, Alfred Wenzel, Lance Wernberg and Lester Britten.
