Kern, Selma (23 September 1922 - 21 November 1981)

Mrs. George H. (Selma) Kern, 79, of 1104 S. Maple Ave., died of an apparent heart attack Saturday in an emergency room of St. Joseph's Hospital.

Services will be at Hansen Funeral Home with Brian Kuehmichel officiating at the services. William A. Allen will be soloist and Mrs. Harold E. Castner, organist. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Kern, the former Selma Mohs, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Carl (Dora Fredericks) Mohs March 11, 1902 in Plymouth where she received her education.

After she and George H. Kern were married Sept. 23, 1922 in Plymouth, they continued to live there a short time, then moved to Greenwood to farm until their retirement in 1962. Since then they made Marshfield their home.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Markee, and a son, Roger Kern, all of Marshfield; a grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Lindow, Sheboygan; and three brothers, Louis Mohs, Green Bay, and Arthur and Edgar Mohs, both of Sheboygan.

She was predeceased by her parents and five brothers and sisters.
