Local Pianists Perform (Annual Recital – 2014)
In the process of learning how to play an instrument, not many budding musicians get the opportunity to showcase their progress and their maturing musicianship, but on Sunday, May 1, one group of piano students got a chance to do just that.
The students of Dorothy Gehrke, including a few from Thorp, got a chance to share their talents by performing in their annual piano recital. Playing a variety of tunes, from “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” to “The Entertainer,” the recital displayed the varying levels of their growing education in playing the piano.
Students of Dorothy’s that performed included Ethan Buchanan, Conner Simington, Luke Schraufnagel, Emma Batteen, Emma Lara, Shalisha Buchanan, Crystal Harms, Ray Nelson, Kalvin Lara, Sadie Knop, Barb Nelson, Brianna Simington, Megan Simington, Samantha Nelson, Kate Schraufnagel, McKenzie Parnewicz and Stephen Buchanan.
