The Charlie Chermelj family came to Willard from Joliet, Illinois. They owned
the farm about half a mile east of John Verschay Sr. They once owned the present
Louis Matkovich farm just south of Willard. They later moved back to Joliet.
They had two children, Sylvia and Ernest.
