Galstad, Helen A. (15 July 1917 - 4 December 1981)
NEILLSVILLE -- Mrs. Wilfred (Helen A.) Galstad, 64, of 306 Park St.,
Neillsville, died Friday at Meeker County Hospital in Litchfield, Minnesota.
Services will be Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church here, with the Rev. Paul
Forde, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Kings Valley Cemetery at Osseo.
Visitations may be made at the Gesche Funeral Home.
The former Helen Gunderson was born July 15, 1917 at Osseo to Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel (Hannah Amundson) Gunderson and graduated from Osseo High School. She
worked in Chicago for a short time prior to her marriage to Wilfred B. Galstad
May 24, 1942 at Osseo. The couple had operated Galstad Studios in Neillsville.
Following the sale of the business several years ago Mrs. Galstad worked as a
clerical aid at Neillsville High School until retiring in 1978.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, its ALCW and the Sewing Circle.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Marilyn) Struckmeyer, Grand
Forks, North Dakota; a son, Stanton, Cokato, Minnesota; a sister, Mrs. Carl
(Ruth) Wik, Osseo; a brother, Thomas, Eau Claire and two grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Kathleen, a brother and a
sister.
