Jacob was born to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew (Shekovar) Dechman on July 18, 1878 in
Jugoslavia.
Frances Kudron was also born in Jugoslavia on April 1, 1879. They were married
there and came to the United States in 1904 and settled in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
They lived there until 1913 when they came to Willard with the Govek family.
They bought land and started farming one mile southwest of town. Jacob was also
a very good carpenter and did much work in the area. Frances always had a nice
garden and many beautiful flowers.
The Dechmans had two adopted daughters, Steffie (Mrs. Louie Champa) and Rose
(Mrs. Frank Auman).
They farmed until 1945, selling the farm to Joe Bayuk, and moved into the
village of Willard. Jacob died on June 5, 1966. Frances later went to live at
the Memorial Home at Neillsville where she died in 1972.
