Michael and Kat Djubenski were married in Poland and had one child there, who
passed away.. They came to the United and settled in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Here
John, Rose and| Antonia were born.
In 1914 the Djubenski and Kotcon families arrived in Willard. They bought 160
acre of land. While living in Willard, Stanley, Micheal, Roger, Felicia, Andrew
and Mary were born. Mr. Djubenski passed away way in 1931 which left his wife to
raise a large family of young children.
In 1932 the entire community helped Mrs. Djubenski build a large dairy barn that
her husband had planned to do. In November 1939 this barn burned to the ground
along with all the crops and some cattle.
The community again responded to a grave need and assisted the family in
building the basement part of the barn to tide them over until sprang when the
rest was built. It took a great deal of effort for Mrs. Djubenski to keep the
family together.
She passed away in March 1971 - two months after her son Stanley died. Micheal
is also deceased. Rose lives in Elmhurst, Illinois. Antonia and Andrew live in
Green¬wood, Roger in Willard, Mary in Abbotsford and Felicia in Thorp.
