Julius Greening came to this area about 1915 from Minnesota. The three brothers
Bill, Walter and Leo lived about 1 1/2 miles west of the Tioga store.
They had a dairy farm at first then went to custom land breaking and threshing.
During their period there were no rubber tires on tractors or machines, so
moving about the country was very slow and steep hills always caused a problem
in pulling the threshing machines over them, especially where the roads were
sandy. They ended their work about 1935. Bill had gone back to Minnesota to
thresh and was killed in a car accident. Walter and Leo are also deceased.
