Thoma, Gladys Emma (11 November – 10 August 2020)

Gladys Thoma, age 87, of Greenwood, died Monday, August 10, 2020 at the Ascension at Home - House of the Dove Hospice Home in Marshfield.

Gladys Emma Dux was born on November 11, 1932 in Neillsville, the daughter of Herman and Elfrieda (Schoenherr) Dux. She attended grade school in Globe and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1950. After graduating, she worked at the Milk Pool in Globe for several years and enjoyed roller skating, dancing and double dating with her good friend, Florence Mitte. On May 24, 1958 she was united in marriage to Gordon B. Thoma. In 1964, Gordon and Gladys took over the family farm where they resided until the spring of 1991 when they moved to their present residence. Gladys enjoyed playing cards, bowling and watching sports. She was a life-time member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Globe and served on their ladies aid for many years.

She is survived by five children, Gail (Dan) Lindgren of Loyal, Gloria (Allen) Barrow of Brunswick, GA, Greg (Dawn) Thoma of Neillsville, Gary (Kelly) Thoma of Neillsville, and Gina Thoma of Greenwood. Nine Grandchildren, Nate, Tom, Marc (Jamie), Amber, Luke (Brittany), Cassandra (Andrew) Ewald, Bob (Amy), Katie (Toby) Bolke and Kaitlin, Seven Great Grandchildren, Clara Ewald, Gregory and Izzy Bolke and baby Bolke one month away, Blake, Maverick, Brooklyn Barrow and Cole Lindgren, two step-grandchildren, Lexi and Lily, a sister-in-law, Genevieve Dux and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gordon, a brother, Louis Dux and her siblings-in-law, George & Tootie Thoma, Bobby Thoma and Irene & Herb Henchen.

Funeral Services for Gladys will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2020 at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe. Pastor Nathan Wilke will officiate. Music will be provided by Karen Hoppa, organist. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville and Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday at the church.
