Mike Krultz was born December 31, 1887 in Slovenia in the village of Hrastnik.
He came to America in 1908. He worked in coal mines in eastern Canada and then
Pen¬nsylvania, before coming to work in the coal mines in Kansas.
His wife, Antonia Prosence was born in Slovenia in the village of Zagorje on
January 3, 1891. She came to Kansas in 1910 where she met and married Mike
Krultz that same year.
To this union were born three sons and two daughters: Mike Jr., Selvian (Slavko),
Frieda, Walter, and Elma. All but Elma were born in Kansas.
The Krultz family moved to an 80 acre parcel of forest land in Willard in the
spring of 1920, traveling by train with the Mike Cerne and John Goste families.
All of these people heard about the land in Willard through a Slove¬nian paper.
The Krultz farm is now being run by the youngest son, Walter. He took over the
farm in January 1957.
Antonia Krultz passed away on July 17, 1946 at the age of 55. Mike Krultz died
on June 10, 1965 at the age of 77.
