Cyril was born on May 29, 1893 in Jugoslavia. He had a brother Matt, and a sister Mary. He came to the United States when he was 17 years of age, settling in North Chicago.

He married Agnes Mazovec in Waukegan, Illinois. She was also born in Jugoslavia. She had a brother in Cleveland, Ohio.

In 1928 they came and settled on a farm northwest of Greenwood. They had three daughters: Agnes (Mrs. Amos Boe), Julia (Mrs. Walter Rasmussen), and Mary (Mrs. Lawrence Scheuerman) all of rural route Greenwood.

Cyril moved to Marshfield in 1953 and worked as a carpenter. He died in June 1966 and Agnes died in October 1966.
