Frank Lauriha came to Willard from Lorain, Ohio. He was a bachelor and worked in the area as a hired man. He was a woodsman, trapper and carpenter. He also worked at Plautz Brothers cement culvert plant.

He lived in a cabin on the John Snedic farm. He loved horses and was a good teamster. He could persuade a team to pull the largest load.
