Pete Matkovich was born May 21, 1893 in Jugoslavia. He came to the United States
in 1912 and settled in Virginia, Minnesota.
He married Mary P. Godec in Willard August 16, 1919. They later moved to
Milwaukee where he was employed at the Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company for
25 years.
He moved to Willard in 1949 and farmed for several years before retiring and
moving to Greenwood. They have one son, Arnold, who resides in the Milwaukee
area.
Peter died July 3, 1966. Mary died October 25, 1977.
