GRANTON - Services for Harold Butterfield, 56, route 1, Granton, will be
Thursday at the Merrillan Methodist Church, Mr. Butterfield died Sunday after
suffering an apparent heart attack. (According to Robert Lulloff, Clark County
coroner, Mr. Butterfield and his 15-year-old son were attaching a snowblower to
a farm tractor when he collapsed.)
The Rev. Calvin Carey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Wood
Cemetery, Merrillan. Friends may call at the Jensen Funeral Home in Hixton.
Mr. Butterfield was born March 17, 1925, in Perkinstown to Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Butterfield. He married the former Ella Matson November 13, 1954, in Black River
Falls. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Vida Buttterfield, Madison; three sons,
Robert, Chicago, Roger, Neillsville, and Richard, Granton; a daughter, Sandy,
Granton; a brother, Greg, Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Glen)
Ebby and Mrs. Lawrence (Lucille) Green both of Merrillan and two grandchildren.

Butterfield, Harold #2 (17 March 1925 – 3 January 1982)
Harold Butterfield, 56, of rural Granton died Sunday, January 3, at his farm
home.
He was born March 17, 1925, in Perkinstown to Charles and Vida (Andrews)
Butterfield. He moved to Merrillan with his parents and attended school there.
He married Ella Matson on November 13, 1954, in Black River Falls and the couple
lived in Merrillan a few years until moving to a farm near Granton.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, of Madison; three sons, Robert of
Chicago, Roger of Neillsville and Richard of Granton; one daughter, Sandy,
Granton; one brother, Greg, Minneapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Genny) Eddy and
Mrs. Lawrence (Lucille) Green of Merrillan; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday afternoon, January 7, in the Merrillan United
Methodist Church, with the Rev. Calvin W. Carey of Osseo officiating. Burial was
in Oakwood Cemetery, Merrillan. The Jensen Funeral Home at Hixton was in charge
of the arrangements.
