Rausch, Winifred (19 January 1912 - 3 January 1982)
GRANTON - Services will be Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Barron
for Mrs. Winifred Rausch, 69, Barron, formerly of Granton. She died Sunday in
the emergency room of St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
The Rev. Charles Cederholm will officiate. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery,
Barron. Visitations will be at the Rockman Funeral Chapel in Barron.
The former Winifred Smith was born January 19, 1912 in Granton and attended the
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She was married to R.R. Rausch August 19,
1935 at Granton, and the couple operated a furniture store and funeral home in
Arpin for two years.
They moved to Barron in 1937 and purchased the Stebbins furniture and Funeral
Co. They later owned and operated the Rausch Furniture Co. and the Rausch-Rockman
Funeral Home until Mr. Rausch's death in 1964.
She was a member and past president of the Barron Community Memorial Hospital
Auxiliary and a member of the United Methodist Church and its Dorcas Circle.
She is survived by three sons, James, Marshfield, John, Burke, Virginia, and
Mark, Dallas, Wisconsin; and five grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two children, two brothers
and three sisters.
