John Musich was Dorn in Stari Irg Jugoslavia in 1880. In 1905 he immigrated to
America settling in Calumet, Michigan. Here he married Anna Kotze, who also was
from the area of Stari Trg. While living in Calumet, John worked in the copper
mines. Son Joe was born in Calumet and the family moved to Virginia, Minnesota
where John worked as a machine operator for six years. During this time Albert
and Victor were born there.
In 1917 the family moved to Willard, buying a farm from Aaron Altenbern of which
there was three acres of cleared land. Later more land was bought, cleared and
tilled.
In 1947 John passed away. Son Albert and his mother continued to farm until her
death in 1959. The farm was then sold to Gordon Hamelot.
Albert is retired and lives on County Trunk O. Joe lives in Waukegan, Illinois.
Victor is now retired and lives in Florida.
