Johnson, Lacy Jean (1 January 1993)
She was expected on Christmas Eve, but rather than arriving in Santa's pack, she
came as the New Year's Baby.
Lacy Jean Johnson was born at 12:05 a.m. New Year's Day, bringing in the new
year for her happy parents, Kyle and John of Greenwood. Lyle's due date was
Christmas Eve, but as with her child, she went late.
Lacy weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 1/4 at birth. She joins a brother,
Jesse, 2 1/2, who think she's pretty neat.
John described his new daughter as "excellent."
"I'm glad we got a girl." he said. "I wanted everything to go OK for mother and
baby and my second wish was for a girl.
The only drawback to having her on New's Years Day, they joked, was losing the
tax deduction for 1992. John added that babies with holiday birthdays,
especially around Christmas tend to get gypped, although New Year's isn't as
bad.
But Kyle was happy with the timing, even if it was a little late. "It was a nice
way to end vacation." she said.
Grandparents of the new addition are Delmond and Amber Johnson of Greenwood,
Leora Suda of Thorp and Alvin and and Nancy Graski of Withee. Great-grandparents
are Verna Nolan of Greenwood, Leora Dudansky of Thorp and Victoria Walcritis of
Thorp.
