Father came to America and settled in Ely, Minnesota where he worked in the
Pioneer mine. Joe and Mary were married in Ely.
Children born there were Mary, presently in Califor¬nia, Joe and John of
Willard. Frank, known as Butch, liv¬ed in Minneapolis and died in 1976. From
Ely, Minnesota they moved to Chisholm, Minnesota where their daughter, Molly
(Prebil) was born. Next town was Duluth, Minnesota. A son, Louis who was born
there, died in childhood.
By the grace of Allah, next and final stop was Willard where they bought a tract
of land known as the Gorman area. Land was all brush, timber and endless amount
of stone. Kristine (Kunkel), their last child, was born here in 1918. The farm
is presently owned by son John Perme and wife Ann.
