Anton Sain was born in Jurisice Jugoslavia, January 15, 1891. He came to U.S.
with his father when he was about 15 years old. They came to Pennsylvania,
around Youngstown and they worked in the woods. After a cou¬ple of years his
father went back to Jugoslavia. Tony worked here and there until he hit Joliet,
Illinois and he worked there in the steel mills. He too heard about Ignac Cesnik
in Willard so he got in touch with his father. In about 1912 they did purchase
80 acres of wild land, across the track, on the way to Greenwood, near where the
Matt Bombach farm was.
They worked hard clearing land and milking cows for a living. Anton married Mary
Cesnik (Ignac's oldest daughter) September 18, 1915. Mary Cesnik was born in St.
Jose do Rio Pardo, Brazil, August 17, 1898. They lived on Cesnik's farm for
about three years. They had two children, Marie and Anthony, born on the Cesnik
farm in Willard.
Ignac sold the farm to Bonovec so they moved to the farm that Tony and his dad
had bought. There they lived three years, then sold the farm to Mr. and Mrs.
Volarich. Again they moved into the town of Willard. They bought 40 acres of
land across the road from the old Musich farm. Their home was a small house next
to the cheese factory. They lived there until 1922, and then moved to Whitetail,
Montana where father Ignac had land for sale.
Anton Sr. is now deceased but Mary still lives on the ranch.
