John Scharenbrock was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Juliana Adolph was born in
the town of Meeme in Manitowoc County.
John Scharenbrock and Juliana Adolph were married in 1902 in Sheboygan. There,
five children were born to John and Juliana in Sheboygan. John Jr. (married to
Elizabeth Clair) of Willard passed away in March 1982. Andrew of Willard died in
1921; Marie (Bourque) of Chicago; Anna (Lauer) of Stanley, Wisconsin and
Elizabeth (Jordan) of Willard.
Mr. and Mrs. John Scharenbrock settled in Sheboygan. John worked in a foundry in
Sheboygan. In 1913 they moved to Greenwood on a farm which they rented for three
years.
Two children, twins, were born to them at Greenwood, Alice (Kurth) of
Neillsville and Marcella (Glass) of Neillsville.
John and Juliana heard of an 80 acre farm in Willard from an agent. In 1916 they
bought a farm in Willard from August Hanke, his wife and William Hanke. They
paid the sum of $3900.00 for the 80 acre farm. There was some cleared land and a
house which stands on the farm at this present time. There was a small barn, Mr.
Scharenbrock tore down that barn and built the barn that is on the farm at this
present time.
In the year 1917 a daughter Julia was born to them in Willard. John was a
carpenter besides farming. He built several barns in the Willard and surrounding
communities. He was killed in a car accident in November of 1925. Juliana farmed
with the children until 1941. Then she sold the farm to her youngest daughter
Julia and her husband Henry Trybula. Juliana stayed with Julia and Henry until
she died in October of 1959. Henry and Julia Trybula farmed the land until 1967,
then they sold it their oldest daughter Audrey and her husband La Verne
Gregorich.
