Anton and Mary Tolaney were born and raised in Slovenia Jugoslavia (then a part of Austria Hungary). An¬ton was a native of Moronog. Mary Stupica was born in Sodrazica. They both came to Pennsylvania in the latter part of the 19th century. They were married in 1898 in Tower, Minnesota and became the parents of eight children: Mary, Frances, Tony Jr., twins John and Frank (Frank died in infancy), Rose, Angela and Joe.

In the year of 1910 they moved to a farm in Tioga country, which now has a Willard address. In 1917 Mary married Frank Laken. Mary died in 1973. Frances married Mike Laken in 1919. They lived in Ottawa, Illinois. Frances died in 1976. Tony Tolaney married Elizabeth Chamberlain. They lived in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Tony died in April 1980. His wife still lives in Stevens Point. John died in 1977. Rose left home in 1931 and went to St Louis, Missouri where she joined the Sisters of St. Mary, a Franciscan (Nursing) Sisterhood.

Angela married Joe Jeras in 1935. Joe Jeras passed away in May 1973; Angela lives in Lyons, Illinois. Joe Tolaney married Jennie Horvat in 1939. They lived on the Tolaney home farm. Upon retirement from the farm they moved to Greenwood. Joe died in 1976. Joe Jr. and Karen Tolaney now live on the original farm. They have 160 acres - 80 on the home place and 80 across the road.

Our father Anton Tolaney Sr. died in 1942. Our mother Mary died in 1949.
