Kirk, Mabel (23 January 1910 - 23 November 1982)
GRANTON - Mrs. Lawrence (Mabel) Kirk was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday at
Neillsville Memorial Hospital.
Services will follow in Windfall Cemetery, Granton, with grandsons serving as
pallbearers. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home.
The former Mabel Rudd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Elise Swanson) Rudd, was
born January 23, 1910 in Cylon, Wisconsin and received her education at New
Richmond. She was married to Lawrence Kirk February 5, 1929 at Stillwater,
Minnesota. He survives.
After their marriage they lived in Emerald, Cumberland and Marathon before
moving to Granton in 1948. They operated a grocery store here for a number of
years. They then lived in St. Paul and Amery and recently returned to Granton,
where they had built a new home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marvin
(Marjorie) Garbisch, Granton; three sons, Joe, St. Paul, James, Laclede, Idaho,
and Noel, Hastings, Minnesota; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Lisz, New Richmond; 15
grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two grandchildren, four sisters and a brother.
