candidates for two seats on the Board of Education. The number will be narrowed
to four at a primary election February 17. The four top vote-getters on that day

Those whose terms expired are Robert Opelt, Route 1, Neillsville; and Wayne

Opelt is seeking re-election. However, Gross has decided not to seek a full term
on the board.
Other candidates include Dr. Don Harris, Route 4, Neillsville, a veterinarian
employed by an animal health product company; Bruce Rakestraw, Neillsville, an
employee of a local furniture store; Bonnie Martin, Route 1, Neillsville, a
realtor; John Trunkel, Neillsville, carpenter; Kenneth Karnitz, Neillsville,
former board member and presently employed by the Farmers Union Cooperative;
