My grandmother's hands were wrinkled and thin from toil of fifty years.
But her heart was light and her mind was keen
And I've never known her to show fear.
Whenever a newborn baby was due
She took care of mother, and more.
Anxiety and troubles came to an end
As soon as Grandmother came through the door
She went from house to house those years
Sewing clothes for mother and maid,
All scraps were saved and pieced together
for the beautiful quilts she made.
Her philosophy of life was good
"If there is a will there is a way."
Although she's been gone for fifty years
her memory lingers still.
