Additional Note
From The Clark County Sheriff’s
Office:
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Retired Deputy Sheriff Leo Wiesner.
Leo started his career with Clark County in September of 1979 and Retired in
October of 2018. Leo also worked for the Neillsville Police Department from
1974-1984. Leo proudly served in the United States Army Reserve for 9 years. Leo
was that guy! When someone was needed to take a transport or guard a scene in
the middle of the night...Leo was there....when transports came in last minute,
Leo was called, and he was there. Many of us had the opportunity to ride with
Leo on those transports throughout the state, he was very quick to point out all
of the good places to stop for lunch that were off the beaten path as he had
been a truck driver for many years. Leo was a fixture in the Russell Park
Campground where he spent many summer weekends patrolling the parks and making
sure everyone was on their best behavior while having a good time. Leo will be
missed by many, we are grateful for his service to the citizens of Clark County
and the knowledge he shared with generations of young law enforcement officers.
