Jingle, Delores “Dee” (10 February 1941 – 17 March 2001)
Delores “Dee” Jingle, 60, of Merrillan, died Friday at Black River Memorial
Hospital, Black River Falls.
She was born on Feb. 10, 1941 in Black River Falls, to Alton “Mike” and Lucille
“Lucy” (Francis) Marvin. Following graduation from Lincoln High School in Alma
Center, she married Richard E. Jingle in 1959 and they later divorced. They
lived in Marshfield during their first year of marriage and then moved to
Hatfield and then to Merrillan. She was employed in road construction by several
construction companies – Wilber Construction, Mathy, Kramer, Allied Blacktop
Company, B.R. Amon and by Hoffman Construction Company the last 14 years.
She was also employed by Norplex Manufacturing and Dadco Foods, both in Black
River Falls. She worked at Figi’s in Marshfield and Neillsville. She also worked
at Castle Hill Supper Club for a short time and for various motels in
housekeeping. When off from construction, she did many odd jobs and cleaned
house for many people in her area. She enjoyed life and people and had a great
love for the outdoors. Her many favorite pastimes include hiking and biking,
hunting and fishing, camping, skating, dancing and cooking and baking.
Survivors include one son, Mark Jingle of Merrillan; two daughters, Sandra
(Allen) Forsting of Merrillan and Pam (Brian) Chandler of Hixton; her mother,
Lucy Marvin of Milwaukee; one brother, Jerry (Luann) Marvin of Kenosha; three
sisters, Elaine (Al) Young of Kenosha, Judy (David) Eddy of Merrillan and Debbie
Marvin of Greenwood; five grandchildren, Kassie and Lisa Chandler and Dusty,
Nick and Shawn Forsting.
She was preceded in death by her father, and her brother, Mike Marvin.
Funeral services for Delores “Dee” Jingle were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday,
March 20, at the United Methodist Church in Merrillan. The Rev. William Swan
officiated, and burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Merrillan. Friends called at the
Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the
church on Tuesday, one hour prior to services.
Casket bearers were David and Steven Eddy, Dusty and Nick Forsting, Alan and Jay
Young.
