Smith, Erin (Award - 1976)
Erin Smith
Erin Smith, daughter of Henry and Norma Smith of Neillsville, was awarded the
Gold Award at the Riverland Girl Scout Council’s annual Gold and Silver Award
Banquet at UW-La Crosse recently.
She was one of 70 girl scouts who received the highest achievable awards in Girl
Scouting – the Gold Award and the Silver Award.
Thirty-four girls from southwest Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa earned the Gold
Award. Thirty-six girls received the Silver Award.
Designed as the highest award in Girl Scouting, this facet of the Girl Scout
program challenges high school girl scouts to excel in leadership, service and
self-development.
The Girl Scout Gold Award recognizes a senior girl scout’s commitment to
excellence as she develops skills and values to meet present and future
challenges of life.
