Joyce Lillian Porath was born on December 4, 1926 at home in the Town of Lynn,
Clark County, the daughter of Ernest and Lillie (Yankee) Porath. She attended

facility in Marshfield.
Joyce was a member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville. During her
days on the farm, she enjoyed running her retail shop, selling canning material
and other small items to local area residents. She also enjoyed her special
kitty, “Jimmy”, tending to her flowers, watching and feeding the birds and
taking care of her farm animals. When her grandchildren were younger, Joyce,
would make sure they got off the school bus safe and sound and care for them
while their parents were at work.
She is survived by two sons, Clifford (Christine) Johnson of Ishpeming, MI and
Duane (Charlotte) Johnson of Granton, a son-in-law, Ken Hughes of Sarasota, FL,
five grandchildren, Heather Hughes, Christopher (Heidi) Hughes, Daniel Johnson
(fiancé Chelsea Swinford), Kevin Johnson, Kayla Johnson and four great
grandchildren, Shaun Hughes, Savannah Shea, Mason Hughes and Halle Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey on March 20, 1993, a daughter,
Linda Hughes on April 27, 2009, two brothers, Victor (Gloria) Porath and Loren
Porath and a sister, Gladys (Oscar) Sternitzky.
