Dekarske, Marilee (11 November 1947 – 24 September 2020)
Marilee Dekarske, age 72, of Spencer, passed away on Thursday, September 24,
2020 at Marshfield Medical Center.
Her Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Rev. Donald Radde will officiate. Family
and friends are invited to gather on Thursday from 9:30 A..M until the time of
services at the church. A private committal will be held at a later date.
Marilee was born on November 11, 1947 in Unity, the daughter of Lawrence and
Allegra (McKnight) Nipko. She attended a one room country grade school later
graduating from Colby High School in 1965. She went on to UW-Eau Claire and
attained her bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Marilee was united in marriage to
Robert Dekarske on November 20, 1965 in Colby Methodist Church. Sadly, Robert
passed away June 29, 2017.
After retiring from operating a dairy farm with her husband and raising her
family, Marilee achieved her life goal of being employed at the former Saint
Joseph Hospital in Marshfield as a registered nurse caring for hundreds of
patients during her career. With her gifted and patient hands, she enjoyed
sewing beautiful clothing for her children and grandchildren. Her other hobbies
included reading, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and canning her
garden’s harvest every year.
Those who will cherish her memory include her five children: Chellen (Keith)
Wright of Marshfield, Tom (Kellie) Dekarske of Green Bay, Jayson Dekarske of
Spencer, Cherian (Jason) Portz of Marshfield and Dustin (Jessica) Dekarske of
Ohio; her 10 grandchildren: Nicholas, Nathan, Zachary, Kelsey, Angel, Alyssa,
Dylan, Ryker, Napoli and Jeter; her step-grandchild, Ivan; two brothers: James
(Patty) Nipko of Missouri and Richard (Kay) Nipko of Arizona along with other
relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert and her sister,
Eileen Smart.
Her arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
