Grindle, Roger D. (27 October 1941 – 5 August 2019) With Flag
Roger D. Grindle, 77 of Boyd, died Monday, August 5, 2019 at Sacred Heart
Hospital.
He was born on October 27, 1941 in Stanley the son of the late James and Pauline
(Krall) Grindle. Roger grew up in the area, he graduated from Stanley High
School. He entered the Army for a time and then worked for National Presto for 3
years and Delmar Lumber for 25 years. Roger enjoyed fishing, pitching
horseshoes, and participated in many bowling tournaments. He also loved watching
his Packers play.
He is survived by his sister, Ann Raether of Fall Creek and many nieces and
nephews.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Clarence, John, Claude,
James Jr., Marion, Monroe and Hubert and one sister, Emma Cooley, sisters-in-law
Barb and Mary Grindle, brothers-in- law Robert Cooley and Raymond Raether.
A celebration of Rogers’ life will be held at 11:30am on Sunday, September 15,
2019 at the Boondocks Tavern-Wilson.
Inurnment and Military rites will be on Monday, September 16th at 1 p.m. at the
Northern WI Veteran’s Cemetery in Spooner.
Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.
