Richards, Robert A. (22 November 1954 – 12 August 2019)

Robert A. Richards, 64, of Stanley, passed away on August 12, 2019 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley.

He was born on November 22, 1954, in Stanley, to the Late Russell and Faith (Oemig) Richards. Robert attended Stanley-Boyd area schools and graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School in 1973. He also graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago and later studied photography and film at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Robert worked various jobs and eventually worked with his dad on paper routes for both the Chippewa Herald and Eau Claire Leader Telegram before his dad’s passing. Robert throughout his life had a passion for drawing, painting, building models and photography. He enjoyed drawing intricate maps and putting together jigsaw puzzles. He enjoyed researching many topics and loved science. In 2011 he was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for 15 years of service as a volunteer for the National Weather Service.

Robert is survived by his sister, Renee (Harold) Spencer of Shawnee, Kansas, and his brother, Roy (Barbara) Richards of Cadott, nieces Dana, Samantha, Sophia, nephews Sterling and Skyler, and 6 great-nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Faith, one great-niece and one great-nephew.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at the Church of the Brethren in Stanley, with Pastor Laurie Natzke officiating. Burial will follow at South Worden Cemetery in Stanley.
