A. H. Noetzel has received the necessary machines and different utensils for a
cotton glove factory, which will start as soon as he can arrange and put them
into running order. The plant will be manipulated by himself and wife until the
business demands more help. Within a year Mr. Noetzel expects to employ ten or
twelve girls in the factory, with an average production of about 4500 pairs per
week. At present weekly output will be about 800 pairs. Three different kinds
will be made, knit wrist, gauntlet, and plain canvas glove, and also one kind of
mitten. F. J. Noetzel of La Crosse has been engaged as traveling sales agent and
will commence work as soon as a few sample pairs of gloves have been made for
inspection.
August always has been a hustler for the town, as well as for himself, and we
hope that everyone in Clark County, when purchasing any of these articles, will
demand the home produced product.
