Of the restroom opened for the public at Neillsville, the Times says: “Last
Monday the W.C.T.U. restrooms were opened for the use of the public. The
businessmen of the city have subscribed sufficient money to pay the expense of
conducting the restroom, and the W.C.T.U. women have encouraged the venture with
their assistance and labor. The rooms are located in the building formerly
occupied by the Eberhardt Furniture Store and are free to the public. There are
warm rooms, chairs, table, papers, toilet for women and children and the
restrooms make an ideal place to which to rest, meet friend, and visit with
neighbors. Mrs. Fulwiler is in charge of the rooms as matron, and lives above
the rooms, so that they have attention at all tie. The restrooms are open every
day and farmers and their wives are especially invited to make use of them
freely.”
