Schreffler, William Henry (25 February 1934 – 7 September 2020)
William Henry Schreffler, 86 of rural Stanley died peacefully on Monday,
September 7, 2020.
He was born on February 25, 1934 in Sunbury, PA to the late John and Hannah
Schreffler. He grew up in Northumberland, PA and graduated from Northumberland
High in 1952. Bill then graduated from the Apostolic Bible Institute of St.
Paul. He pastored the Apostolic Faith Assembly at 135 1st Ave, Stanley for 8
years.
He married Shirley Hawks on June 16, 1956 from Curtiss. The couple lived in the
Parsonage of the church for 8 years. They then moved south of Stanley in 1964
and have been there since. Bill worked for the Stanley Corporation for 13 years
and then at the Northern Center in Chippewa Falls for 28 years-retiring in 1996.
Bill pastored the First Apostolic Church-rural Withee from 1964-2012. Bill loved
teaching the Bible, being with his family and grandchildren and would lend a
hand and do whatever he could for people. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Stanley, his son, William Harvey
Schreffler, Jr. of Stanley, his daughter, Brenda Joy (John) Bollinger of Bremen,
IN, 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and four brothers, Donald (Diane), Tom
(Betty), Gary (Vicky) and Robert (Pat) Schreffler. Bill is preceded in death by
his parents, his son, Robert, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at
the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley with Rev. Jim VanNorman officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until time of service. Inurnment will take place
in the 1st Apostolic Church Cemetery at a later date.
