Milas, Florence F. (3 April 1926 – 16 February 2020)

Florence F Milas, at the age of 93, passed away on February 26, 2020 and was surrounded by her family and caregivers at Country Terrace in Stanley.

Florence was born on April 3, 1926 to the late Stanley and Frances (Paul) Drozd in Chicago, IL. Florence married Stanley Milas on October 18, 1943 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stanley. Florence and Stanley worked many years farming and raising their children. Florence also worked many years at Victory Memorial Hospital as a housekeeper. After retiring she went on to work as a Foster Grandparent for over the next 20 years at Stanley-Boyd Schools. She loved helping the little ones learn how to read. Florence always enjoyed gardening, playing cards and cooking for her family.

Florence is survived by her children, Stanley (Susan) Milas of Boyd, Nancy (Craig) Cornell of Gulf Shores, AL., Richard (Marsha) Milas of Albuquerque, N.M., Shirley (Sam) Olson of Boyd, and Michael (Tracy) Milas of Boyd, 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Bernice (Alfred) Van Canneyt.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stanley, a brother Victor, 3 children, James,
Gerald and Rita, 1 daughter-in-law, Beverly, 1 great-grandson and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Florence will be missed greatly by all her family and friends. Rest in Peace.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church-Stanley with Father William Felix officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass on Friday at the Church. Inurnment will take place on Mother’s Day at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery-Huron.
