Dale Meyer, a member of the Dorchester Lions Club for 38 years, was recently
presented with the Ray Hempel Fellowship Award, which recognizes a Lion’s
“unique accomplishments, extraordinary dedication, support and service to
others.” Meyer served as president of the Dorchester Lions 2005 to 2006 and
secretary from 2006 to 2020. He has volunteered for most of the club’s
activities, including brat fry's, charity balls, highway cleanups, Dorchester
Days, the pork loin dinners, spaghetti suppers, annual Santa Claus visits and
more. He owns Meyer Lumber Supply, judges dog shows and earned a bachelor’s
degree in 2013. He lives with his wife, Dora, and they have two sons.
