Last Saturday afternoon about half past one as Daisy Sheets was busily engaged
helping a pupil with some problems at the schoolhouse in the Larson District, a
noise was heard outside which she could not account four. Just as she reached
the window to look out, the door flew open and about forty of her pupils greeted
here with a surprise. They presented her with a fine stand lamp, match receiver,
three large scenery pictures and twenty-five cents in money. A very enjoyable
time was spent in playing games and partaking of the refreshments furnished by
the pupils. They left for home about half past five, all enjoying having
surprised their teacher so pleasantly.
