St. Joseph-Fairview Catholic – Fairview (Lasagna Dinners - October 2020)
The Only Thing Missing were Drippy Candles

The lasagna was ready to go in the oven. Before long, over 200 meals were served
to those driving through the line to pick up their-to-go orders at St. Joseph
Catholic Church-Fairview’s lasagna dinner. Contributed photos
But everything else you could think of was waiting at the St. Joseph Catholic
Church – Fairview for a great lasagna dinner to go. This drive-thru event
featured a hearty serving of lasagna, a green salad, Italian bread, dessert and
drink. Friendly people, masked and socially distance, took the orders and within
minutes, came out with a handled brown bag full of food. Those stopping by were
soon headed toward home with the aroma of Italian cooking made them making them
drool. After enjoying the meal, there was an extra surprise of an after-dinner
mint for a sweet ending.
It takes a crew to host a drive-thru event, especially one serving up lasagna,
complete with a side salad. Pictured below are Peg Connelly, Jan Elfering,
Mickie Theiler, Jolene Janke and Joan Scheffer.
Jeanine Strandberg, JoAnne Forsting and Marci Baugher helped take orders and
keep the traffic moving smoothly during St. Joseph Catholic Church – Fairview’s
drive-thru lasagna dinner.
Over 200 meals were served at the event, which was sponsored by the St. Joseph
Catholic Church – Fairview and PCCW with limited matching funds from Catholic
Financial Life Insurance – Alma Center Branch. Proceeds will be used towards the
church’s remodeling project.
