The Reseburg Mutual Telephone Company is about to enter the village and it is
hoped that our merchants will encourage the movement by buying a phone and
becoming a member of the organization. This line taps territory which is
tributary to Thorp and will result in steering some of that trade to Withee if
we encourage the company. The actual expense is small, $14.00 for a high-grade
bridging phone, and the yearly assessment is not to exceed $6.00. About a dozen
have promised to take a phone and become a member.

The Reseburg Mutual Telephone Company has their line in fine working order.
Every farmer owning a phone seems well pleased with it. Two of the merchants and
a doctor have phones in Thorp and several more will take phones in the near
future.
