The Village Council has made another valuable municipal investment in the shape
of a National reversible street roller. This is the very latest improvement in
street making, having been on the market but a short time, and Withee is the
first town in the vicinity to purchase one. It has a diameter of six feet, runs
on ball bearing axle and has a weight of 1100 pounds, which can be increased to
six and one half tons if desired. Our streets have again been heavily graveled
this summer, and this machine will put on the finishing touch, crushing and
packing down the gravel so as not to interfere with hauling this winter. The
machine cost $450.00.
