The following in regard to Dr. Kennedy, a former Greenwood resident, appeared in
one of the Milwaukee paper Monday:
“To be held up and robbed in the downtown district is the experience that a
Milwaukee man encountered. Dr. W. Kennedy, who has offices at 204 Grand Avenue,
is the man. Three thugs attacked him at the corner of Third and Sycamore Street
about midnight last night. The thieves took the man’s coat, some money and aa
book containing several checks. The thugs badly beat the physician. His head is
cut and battered in several places and his condition, while not serious, is
painful. He was passing at Third and Sycamore Streets shortly after midnight,
when three unknown men stepped up to him. Without any explanation one man
grabbed his coat, the other struck him with a club, and the third went through
his pockets. The victim cried for help, but in spite of the fact that the
hold-up took place downtown, no one came to his assistance.”
